Dandelion puffs have always been motifs to which the artist felt inexplicably drawn. This painting reflects shifts within the artist’s inner world as an adult woman, while also addressing forms of violence absorbed through lived and relational experience. The artist’s nude body, pierced by blooming dandelion puffs, suggests a self marked by emotional wounding, yet still holding traces of tenderness and persistence. Within the context of the exhibition, the work speaks to how pain, memory, and vulnerability remain within the self as emotional layers that continue to accumulate and shape one’s way of being.
