Hometow Project: Cherry Blossoms

glazed porcelain, 2025

Having spent several years of her childhood in Gyeongju, the artist became deeply drawn to the city’s singular atmosphere. Of all the places she has lived in Korea, Gyeongju is the one she considers closest to a hometown.

The Hometown Series is composed of wheel-thrown vessels made from white porcelain clay, formed while the artist recalled her memories of Gyeongju. This first body of work is centered on cherry blossoms. Although each vessel has a distinct shape, the soft, flowing curves and glazes that blend shades of pink and purple bring the works together as a unified series.
