This sculpture consists of two teddy bears, through which the artist explores the ambivalence and complexity of human relationships. Teddy bears are often associated with comfort, softness, and affection, yet they are also modeled after real bears—animals that can be powerful, wild, and frightening. By drawing on this contrast, the work suggests that human beings likewise contain contradictory qualities at once: tenderness and harshness, intimacy and distance. When placed together, the two bears appear to embrace one another, but when separated, each remains a complete and independent figure. Through this relationship, the sculpture reflects how human connection can involve both closeness and autonomy, revealing intimacy not as fusion, but as a state in which attachment and individuality coexist.
